Microdiskectomy is a spine surgery where the surgeon removes the fragments of disc material that have protruded into the spinal canal. The disc space may also be explored, and any loose fragments of disc that could eventually press on nerves can be removed leaving more space for the nerve to heal. C 6-7 ( for cervical ) is just a level of spine where the surgery is being done. There are 85%-95% chances in relieving pain in the buttocks and leg.Pain disaperas pretty fast after the surgery but it can take 6-8 weeks for the nerve to calm down.
