I've been taking a 28 day birth control for about four years now. When I was seventeen I had a trauma and found my self pregnant. I had an abortion as a result (please no harsh words about that) I am now twenty one and I've been with my fiance for over two years, we live together and plan on marrying in the next year. My busy lifestyle makes it hard for me to take my pills properly. I often miss days or takeit hours late. The past three months we have been having sex without use of a condom, so he ejaculates inside of me. The last time was two nights ago (I remembered I forgot two pills almost right after)
What are the chances I could be pregnant? I do not just lay there after sex, I often clean myself up moments later, if that helps at all. Because I don't really remember much about the first weeks of my past pregnacy, I'm unsure what to be alerted by.

Hi Elmwood,
Your birth control pills are much more effective taken on time and on a regular basis. The idea is to create and maintain a level of hormones in your body.
A few hours either way isn't that critical. As you get longer than that, and start missing days, the chances of pregnancy increase.
Try to find a better time to take your pills, maybe with a meal or just before bed. Anytime that you can that will be reasonably consistent.
An alternative is a different method of birth control, maybe Depo or an IUD.
Hope it helps.
