So first of im 18 years old, I have had my period since I was 12, and im sexually active. I got put on Yaz for a year, but got taken off about almost a year ago, because I used to skip the last 4 pills and go right to the next package and not get my period. I went to the doctors because I eventually got my period and it lasted for over 2 months. My doctor switched me to Femcon when I went in for that visit. Ive been on it for almost a year and I never take the last 8 pills ( the empty ones) I have 3 or 4 times taken 4 of the pills. I have been skipping to the next package for the past 3 months and I have had my period now lightly for about 2-3 months with occasionally stopping for about a week. Sometimes if I get my period to heavy I will take 2 in one day. I know this isnt healthy which is why I am not doing that anymore and I am completing the package. This is my first time in a while letting my self finish and now I am on the 2nd day of the empty pills and my period is never ending, very heavy like if insert a super tampon and walk about 15 feet, it fills up. Today I noticed mucis like membrane and extreme cramps and I almost blacked out. I have never fainted or blacked out before but just incase this helps, when I was younger I had low iron and I just recently lost 35 lbs in the last 6 months. I need to know if this might be a miscarriage or if I shouldnt be concerned. PLEASE HELP!!! ps. I have been extremely sexually active the last 4 months, but use safe sex except for a 3 or 4 mishaps where condom was lost.

Taking birth control pills prevent ovulation, so you are highly unlikely pregnant.

I can't say why you are bleeding this much but you've had it before when menstruating, so I don't think it is pregnancy or miscarriage.

Taking birth control does help to prevent pregnancy, but messing around and skipping them here and there could raise a red flad.
You are throwing your system totally out of wack by doing this.

If it's your periods that you don't want to see so often, talk to your doctor about Seasonal. It is a birth control pill that you take for 3 months in a row, then you go off for a week to allow your period to show up, then you start again with the next 3 month supply, and so it goes.
Winter, Spring Summer and Fall is when you would get a period, hence the name Seasonal, for the 4 seasons.
