I've been on birth control for some time now and I have a trip coming up and unfortunately my period landed right on the trip. Since I'm on birth control I started to skip the white pills to prevent my period and I plan on doing that this month for my trip. I read about doing this and from what I found it said it would take a month or two to completely work. Well I continued on the blue pill and received my period on the 14th very light and that's how it's continued for a while and then it later om got heavier. My flow as been light and heavy throughout. Well it's now day 17 and I'm still on my period. Is this normal when continuing on the blue pill and skipping the white pills?

Hi. I had a similar problem a few years ago when i used to take birth control but it caused  my period to last for a whole month so i went to the doctor and they said my body just doesnt react to the pill correctly. They put me on 3 different pills over a few months and i had the same problem with each one. So it is possible that your body just doesnt like the pill.

The white pills do not have any kind of active birth control ingrediant in them. They are just sugar pills. So basically they are just there to remind you to take your pills. as long as you remember to take the ones that are not white then you are fine. You can take the white ones if you want but they do not have any effect.
