Hi,

I've been orthotricycline since October and was nausea the first 2 months. Over a month ago I got a really bad cold and was sick in the mornings some from all the sinus drainage (so i think). I am and have been over my cold for a a month now and I am still getting nauseas and sometime vomiting in the morning. I missed a few pills since I began the regimine (maybe 3), but took them within 12 -18 hours of missing them and my boyfriend and I always use condems.

Just wondering if I could be pregnant? Has anyone had problems with being sick on this b.c?

BC pills (increase in sexual hormones) can cause all sorts of annoying symptoms, nausea included.

Increase in estrogen and progesterone levels (BC pills) contribute to nausea by their direct influence on intestinal hormones. Progesterone alone (some bc pills) may cause nausea, stomach pain, constipation or diarrhea, mild headache, swollen or tender breasts, joint pain, etc

I doubt you are pregnant considering you have double protection, bc pills and condoms, but you should know that no protection is 100% effective, so "accidents" do happen.

If you are overly worried, you could have a home pregnancy test done but I reckon you are fine. Talk to your gyn about another type of BC pills if you believe these are making you feel nauseous.
