Hi, I have been taking BC, but I got pregnant. I might have missed a few times. Is it enough not to take pill only once or twice and already to get pregnant?

By taking pill every day you maintain the level of hormones in order to prevent to conceive. But, if you miss a dose, the level of hormones lowers and you are not protected that day and next. In a few next days, by regularly taking pills you will have hormone level back again. It is advised to take some additional method of protection while if you miss a pill. It is considered that up to seven days are needed for the hormones to become fully effective. However, the first seven days of a woman's cycle are infertile. Some doctors recommend using extra method of protection for the first 30 days, until you get used to taking pill every day.
