Hello--I am a 54 yo healthy and fit woman who had a mild stroke (clot induced) one month ago. I have a PFO, which was closed with an implant after the stroke. I am taking Plavix and aspirin for three months, then go to aspirin alone.

I had been taking birth control pills prior to the stroke to ameliorate "warm flashes". Since the stroke, I have not taken them, although I was not told not to. Consequently, the warm flashes have returned and are very annoying. Would it be safe to resume the the bc pills (Loestrin), along with the Plavix/aspirin therapy and not be at significant risk for another stroke?
