So I had two internal hemorrhoids removed the 27th of May and that was the worst pain I have ever endured. The swelling was immense and the sutures left me with quite a large external skin tag that was really irritated. My biggest fear was being able to make that first BM. I did my best to prepare with a healthy diet, warm baths, and stool softeners. Eight days after the surgery I was finally able to pass a BM, which though was quite painful it did not seem to cause much damage but a bit of soreness. However, about 45 min afterwards came the blood, and it did not stop coming. Well after a hospitalization, a blood transfusion, and some emergency surgery they closed the rupture in my sutured which apparently happened both internally and around the rectums membrane leaving me with a lot more stitches. The surgeon also removed the large skin tag as he felt that this may have also contributed to the issue. The pain isn't as bad compared to when I first had the surgery but I am still scared out of my mind about stenosis from all the new stitches and the inevitable first BM. I'm only 22 and was told this was to be a quick recovery procedure to have it turn into a complete nightmare. I would greatly appreciate any advice. I'm sticking with the healthy diet, staying very hydrated, three warm baths a day, and dressing the sutures with cortisone cream from the doctor before bed. Not too sure what else I can do to prevent any further complications. I did not strain during the BM that ripped everything not was it too dense so we're still not sure what caused the damage. I honestly thought I was making progress after passing it until the blood.
