Just had surgery 10 days ago, and starting to feel pretty good. For everybody having doubts about the surgery, I would say disregard all the negative feedback and look at the positives of having the surgery. The way I feel after a BM now is just one reason to have the surgery. No hemorrhoid   Popping out , no burning no itching , no sitting around for 2-3 hrs to feel better. Not going to lie , first couple of days are a bit rough but it ain't that bad. Could be doing some jail time some where for a few years now that would be bad.  It's important to keep a soft diet for the first week, and keep on your stool softeners and drink a lot of h2O.  I was off pain killers after 3 days, I used 7 pain killers and 12 XS Tylenol in the first 3 days. Then 2 X's Tylenol for each of the next 2 days. And that's it. It's still tender but totally bearable. Remember time heals everything and don't stress out.  Just relax and try to do things to keep your mind off things ( movies , books. , video games , listen music )              Sitz baths are must and beware of rubbing the area with soap or towels or the pads may become annoying and cause a rash. So be gentle when washing and drying up.  I liked sleeping with no underwear on , and on a towel   Just made the wound feel good to get fresh air. I did this after 4 or 5 day. I also put a little Destin around the stitches cause of a bit of a rash, that helped sooth and took care of the rash. I had two large prolapsed hemorrhoids removed and I'm glad I did.  There is nothing to think about, the positives out weigh the 5-6-7 days of feeling not so good. Follow the doc orders and ask them questions.

Good luck
