I was on percocet for about 4 years, at the end I was on around 100mg per day probably. I have been off for about 2 weeks, and I am so insanely depressed. Not eating, it's crazy hard to work (self employed) and isolated. I was wondering if Cymbalta works after quitting percocet to help take away some of the depression to assist me in not going back to pain medication. I just can't find any happiness in anything, and I think it's because a variety of issues including recent money problems. Anyway, let me know your thoughts as to whether the cymbalta works since I have lowered the dopamine levels in my brain.

Sounds like you are suffering from PAWS post acute withdrawal syndrome. It is when your brain starts to heal from the opiates. Can last up to two years. Honestly, look into Fish Oil with omega three. I am going through it. The mood swings are incredible, but I am tapering off of suboxone. Proven fact it is the only thing that stimulates dopamine levels. The psyche drug side effect inhibits this and it is more poisons in you. Side effects aren't worth it. Look up PAWS get some real information not just asking us who will tell you what we think we remember about it. On your computer check it out..... Eating well, exercise, and good support all a must. Stress in life will just add to the possibilities of going backward. You also need to stimulate your endorphin's. That was hindered by the opiates. Good luck. Each day I look forward to being narcotic free. It is like fog lifting off of me. I am awaking and I am hoping what I find on the other side is okay. I have great support, doctor's helping me, and a new life to create. Hope you make it, if you slip or think of slipping please don't forget about Suboxone. It is a life saver for those who truly have addiction disease. It makes it so you can't do drugs while on it. They have no effect. And the drug doesn't make you high, it is as close to being clean as an addict can get. Just in case.... Expensive though. Good luck. See you on the other side shortly.....
