I doubt anyone is still reading this, but just in case... 100mg to 50 mg in a week is dangerously fast. I really hope you ended up okay. Many people are recommending going down on Seroquel by 10% a month... yes, 10% a month. Several people I know of said it took them several years to get off this drug. I think that spreading it out over years is a little extreme, but several months... yes. And again, 100 to 50 mg is frighteningly and dangerously fast.

Cold turkey 300mg seroquel xr/day and this...

TLDR - Holy sh*t, same experience went to hell and probably nirvana, probably just a huge neurotransmitter reset

I know this was over a year ago, but the part about blocking channels is making me want to reply here. I like to keep an open mind about non perceivable things to our five senses, i.e. - "spiritual guides" - but I tend not to believe in such things. However, with this medicine and witnessing someone else sensing that same concept is scary. I fell asleep and dreamt about all of these spirits that were in a black void welcoming the interaction or connection back with open arms. I felt bad for abandoning it or them or whatever. Like I could perceive something like a dimension which we cannot use our physical senses to interact, but use our inner-self to feel it? I fell into such a deep sleep (finally) that I felt so weird coming back to this life. Like, I went through stages of existence? There was a hellish like existence which isn't like a traditional hell, then theres either a better or worse existence where it's null - like if you assimilate it to eyesight it would be blacker than black? You can feel your entire essence engulfed in it. I'm sure it was just all those neurotransmitters giving me the finger...

Im off Seroquel XR too for 4 days now. My doctor said i should slowly build off but i wont. I took Seroquel XR and im still taking escitalopram but im quitig this too.

Man, it was a nightmare quitting seroquel the first days (took this for 2 years and my doctor said it was fine but man..).

Now im training everyday and i feel so happy! I still have problems sleeping but this will go away.

Also, i believe in the power of cannabis. When i'll getting an attack (you know psyattack or something), ill just go buy some weed (i live in belgium).

I worked out 2 years till end 2015, then i got an attack and talked about it with my doctor the first time, then i got to a shrink who give me those seroquel and escitalopram. Oh boy i'm so regretting not smoking a blunt (i havent smoked for 4 years 2012-2016) then instead of calling my doctor!

Also, im so glad i can tell my story here!

My advice: Work out, eat healthy and dont take those pills!

Sorry for my language because i'm from Belgium!

Friendly Regards my friends and good luck!!

Things I couldn't do for two years: sneeze yawn feel chills easily, laugh easily, wasn't happy on methadone cipralex Pam's Seroquel cymblata methadone. Eventually I could be around someone and not cave in to disgusting drugs. Smoking weed helped save my life!!!! But it's not for everyone if your generally a content person, your brain doesn't need "extra" help from pot hence why ppl get paranoid

When I quit seroquel cold turkey about 2 years ago at first I had severe insomnia because seroquel made me quite sleepy and I always took it at night. The insomnia lasted about 3-4 months but after that I started to feel better and more like myself though my anxiety did get worse which was kinda hard for me because seroquel did help with that even though I didn’t noticed until my anxiety got bad again. I didn’t go on any other medication after that. I did do more things that were out of my comfort zone to deal with my anxiety and it has been well. My anxiety isn’t completely gone but I can say I do have less of it by doing things that make me anxious. Didn’t have any other withdrawal symptoms that I’ve noticed.

Hey Andre B. you are very brave. I hope that you were able to achieve your goals. I just went off cold turkey, and I don't really know how it will go because it has only been one night.

I quit seroquel cold 9 days ago. I was on 175mg for 8 years. About 16 days ago I had a very bad and scary reaction to my bedtime dose of seroquel where my heart felt like it was going to explode. This happened every bedtime dose until my doc and I deemed it necessary to go off the med cold turkey. I have had waves of a rising hot flash with high blood pressure causing pain down my left arm, sudden and severe nausea, foggy brain, zoned out, headache and profuse anxiety. These all happen intensely together and at first they would last for hours, then a small 2-3 hour window with calm and no symptoms. This has happened over and over lessening with intensity and duration until now I have nearly no symptoms most of the time. But every so often (1-3 times daily) I feel the rise of the hot flash along with all the aforementioned symptoms but it only lasts 3-15 minutes and the worst symptom being the intense anxiety. I however was placed onto lamictal my second day off of seroquel and I had very small mild doses of ativan and on day 5 was put on hydroxyzine for anxiety and sleep. This was very hard but I no longer tolerate seroquel and this was a necessary discontinuation. I would not recommend cold turkey, but I would recommend seeking a doc to prescribe meds that can help with the withdrawal process.

Hello all. I am brand new here. I wanted to thank you all for what you have wrote it helped me make some hard decisions. I was put on seroquel 100 mg for sleep 1 month ago by my pill seller (psychiatrist). Boy am I glad I read all this stuff because I was on 100 mg for only a month. I asked several pharmacists how to quit and they said cut the dose in half to 50 for a week and then another half to 25 for another week. When you reach 25 mg wait another week and stop. I am on day 5 and doing fine. Since I was on so little for such a short time it should not be so bad. Wish me luck.
