I've just completed a 6 month period on Roaccutane and am completely free of spots after 20 years of suffering! Yay!! Yes the side effcts were a pain, but compared to the outcome they were really quite minor.

Whilst on the drug I started getting really bad headaches and I just knew this was being caused by the contraceptive pill. I saw my doctor who wrote me a prescription for another pill to try. I went against her wishes and withdrew from the pill completely however as I had tried different pills in the past and none of them had suited me. I figured my boyfriend and I would just use condoms very carefully. The headaches disappeared and so did the spots!

I have just had a really big scare, however, as two weeks after quiting Roaccutane, I missed a period. We had been ultra careful and I knew there was little chance of pregnancy but my period was hardly ever late. It has finally come today - one whole week late - and I was wondering if this delay could have been due to withdrawal from Roaccutane. I also noticed during my time on Roaccutane (after I'd come off the pill) that I didn't ovulate every month. Does Roaccutane cause hormonal changes and if so, are these reversible?
