I was on Seroquel for about a year and took it for intense panic attacks at night, it got to the point where I would just take it for sleep also. I had some tests done and they found high cholestoral and some irregular liver stuff that was related to seroqel so they took me off of it. In place of it they are now giving me Trazadone.
Hi there, I am also taking Serequel but want to stop it. I use it to make me sleep. Now I have liver and cholestrol problems. Does Trazadone work for you. Can you sleep?
I took seroquel low dose 25-50 for sleep as well until I realized I was a zombie and my cholestorol and eyesight got messed up. I went off seroquel 3 months ago and nothing helped me sleep for about a month, I tried trazadone without success and just dealt with insomnia and passing out when I could. I now am settled and am able to sleep with the help of melatonin and an occasional benadryl. On the up side my eyesight is getting better and I am healthier, this drug is brutal.

i've been on seroquel for a very short time (only 2 weeks!! 300mg) and I was not tolerating it. My doctor said "stop taking it". Now I have serious muscle pain, sick to my stomach, runny nose and I can't sleep. It's worse than kidney stones I've had... and doctors took those seriously. Any herbs or vitamins that can help ease this detox? How long is this pain going to last? I've been detoxing the way you would from heroin (pepto bismol and advils with tons of water) but it's not cutting it. Any help would be great. Thanks!!

Hi Logos, I know how you are feeling and I hope it passes quickly for you.
I tried a bunch of things and all that helped me oddly enough was nightime benadryl. As its an allergy med it helped with my runny nose and discomfort and it had the added benefit of making me a little drowsy.
Take care

Amanda and others.... I have tried the benadryl (Diphenhydramine.... its what most sleeping pills are too) mixed with fish oil pills, a complex B vitamin and advils with a stomach friendly diet and gatorade. I have been sleeping, my head feels much clearer and the muscle pain has gone down. My doctor said that Seroquel in low doses is an antihistamine and that is what benadryl is... so thanks for the tips and I hope this combo helps other people feel a little better too!

What happened to me was very dangerous...what if I was driving...or hit my head the right way and died. Im done with meds!!!

When a psychiatrist writes you a script go home and research it. When the pharmacist hands you a script ask them about it or *read the info they give you*. If you want to play doctor you will pay the price. If you wanted off of it they would have switched you to the XR which is slower leaving your body so you don't have to go through this.

If your current dr had you on 8 mg Xanax, I'd find another one. If Xanax were beer you would be up to two cases a day.

I'm 20, have been taking seroquel for the past 6 years, at one point I was on 900mg a night, my pysch at the time over medicated me to the point where I'm so defendant on it it's ridiculous. Over the past 2 years I've been reducing it, I'm down to 50mg a night. Though tonight I've run out, I forgot to pick up my script. When this happens I am severely ill, I liken my symptoms to that of a drug addict who can't get their fix. I can't sleep,I have a migraine, I'm vomiting, hot and cold. I also have suffered from muscle twitches ever since starting the medication, they can severely affect my day to day life. Though it worked for a while, seroquel has been nothing but trouble for me. The amount of weight I've gained being on it makes me hate myself, especially since I've suffered from eating disorders for the past 9 years. I wish I'd never had to take it. If anyone has any tips for the nausea I'm suffering I'd love to know!
