Hello there,

I was reading the study in which were conducted seven hospitals in New York City. The study claimed that ECT is known to be an effective treatment for major depression and that this fact is known for years.

I can’t remember the exact percentage but I remember that the study has showed improved quality of life in patients with major depression in two weeks after ECT has been concluded. And they were also claiming that improvement of life is related not only in short term but a long term as well.

They have explained that improvements are mostly related to the controlling depression symptoms.

All in all if there is no other choice why not try ECT.
