I can’t believe I finally found the answer. I’ve been taking Singulair for about 7 months now. I started noticing weight gain about a month after. But I didn’t think about it that much. I just kept working out and eating as usual. Before this, I had a six pack and I was in the best shape of my life. Now, 7 months later I am 20 pounds heavier, while still eating according to my macros and working out regularly. I keep track of everything I eat, and I workout with a professional trainer. Yet, the more I tried, the more I seemed to be gaining the weight. As soon as I read this, I stopped taking it. I hope I will feel like myself again soon. Thank you all for finally making me feel like I’m not crazy.

My doctor refused to tell me the side effects. I told her I do not have high pressure my blood pressure has always been to low but it has shot up. They put on blood pressure pills I am done with all these stupid games doctors play. I am done with all their horrible drugs. I am going to try natural means. Like eating food high B vitamins especially those high in the Vitamin B's. I was reading that peanut butter has almost as much B vitamins as Salmon salmon has 6 mg and PB has almost 5 in 2 tablespoons. That is one PB&J sandwich for breakfast!

Hello.

It is possible that weight gain can occur as a side effect of Singulair (montelukast), although it is not a common side effect. Other factors, such as changes in diet, exercise, or stress levels, could also be contributing to your weight gain.

If you are experiencing significant weight gain or other side effects from Singulair, it is important to talk to your healthcare provider about your options. Your healthcare provider may recommend alternative medications or other treatments that may be effective for your rhinitis symptoms without causing weight gain.

It is also important to continue to follow a healthy diet and exercise plan, as these can help with weight management and overall health.

Singulair is a drug that helps to control asthma and allergic rhinitis symptoms. It also helps to treat hives and other allergic reactions. When taken as directed, it should not cause any side effects, but it can lead to weight gain.
