I'm on Aviane birth control and have been for just over a full year. Last week was my period week for the month. However, I didn't bleed at all, I totally skipped my period! I went to the doctor to get bloodwork done and I am not pregnant. I have to go through a referrel system to see a GYN (hopefully I'll see one next week).
What could cause a skipped period while on birth control other than being pregnant? Could this be early menopause? I'm 19 and a newlywed (to a sailor in the Navy). I have heard of early menopause happening to women in their 20s, but I thought I was clear of that for a few more years. Eary menopause does NOT run in my family.
Any help at all to help me figure out what is wrong with me will be greatly appreciated. :-)

OKAY, heres the deal my dear...
Some women LIKE to skip their period, so they must take the pill a special way to skip their period..
YOU SEEM to have 'naturally' skipped your period. SOME women will ahve this happen while on birth control.
IT IS NOT DANGEROUS, as you do not actually need a period while on birth control.
ALL a period on birth control is is a withdrawal bleed, from lack of hormones.
