Hi, I am on lots of meds and truly understand your concern. I was like you, I did the same thing and by reading posts had my self more scared‼️If you have a good doctor then trust him or her and try the combo. If it’s not for you then tell your doctor. You cannot go by the thousands of posts you read.

The hair loss is the topamax. It will fall out in your hands. Takes a while for it to get out of your system and get some hair back.

Watch the prozac,I was on that and it made me suicidal..it was very bad,and I had spoken to a few other people I knew who had been trial and error as well with medications and they also said to stay far far away from it. Effexor was great,but it causes alot of weight gain(for myself anyway).Im currently on wellbutrin xl and have been on topamax (as a mood stabilizer)for two weeks- i lost a little weight and its made it a bit easier to focus ,but all week ive been extremely emotional,very depressed,and felt the way i did before the wellbutrin..i dont know if it's temp?so im giving it a little longer,but im thinking it night not be a good Combo for me .Just ask though about the prozac ..topamax could be it ,but cant hurt to make sure.

Yes. I have taken the two together. I lost 25 pounds, got a permanent twitch in my left elbow, and my judgement in walking was off. I did feel better mentally but it was all a trade off. I had an up kind of feeling. I had energy.

Without Topamax, most if not all antidepressants make you gain weight. Welbutrin and Topamax are the only ones that cause weight loss, with or without each other.. I was sweating in summer and I was cold in the air conditioning and winter. I stuck it out for a few months and then stopped because I realized the twitch came from the drugs. It wont hurt to try. It starts working fairly quickly so you will know if it's working. Good Luck

It was the wellbutrin that was causing your hair to fall out. I've had the same issues with it. I've been on both topamax and wellbutrin at the same time and when I stop the wellbutrin the hair loss also stops. I'm not sure if this only happens in higher doses. The highest I've been on is 300 mg. I do really well on this combination so I want to try a lower dose and see if that's better. Unfortunately my mental health provider won't put me back on it because I was diagnosed with some kind of seizure disorder except no one can really tell me what kind and to cover their own butts they won't prescribe it. I never had one seizure while I was on it but this doesn't seem to matter to them.
