TMJ Arthroscopy is done in cases that all nonsurgical methods are giving no result. It takes a day in hospital to have arthroscopy done. YAG laser is used for making a relaxing incision anterior to displaced discs. Treatment of inflamed synovial tissue is another step. Displaced discs can be positioned correctly. Many sorts of internal joint disorders can be treated with advanced laser technology. Fewer complications are seen after an arthroscopy procedure than with open TMJ surgery, and it requires a shorter time in the hospital. TMJ arthroscopy has a high success rate, minimal complications, and short recovery times.
