I am 49 and have been experiencing symptoms of perimenapause for about 2 years. The bigest problem for me were heavy and unpredicatable periods. I become anemic last year due to heavy periods and had to take iron additionaly. In November my periods stopped for 3 months. Now I have just had three weeks of heavy bleeding. Sometimes I feel like I cannot walk. I have been using Progesterone cream for 2 years now. I don't have any hot flashes but was experiencing sleeplessness and anxiety so my doctor ( general) put me on Serzone and that has helped with those symtoms. I can't seem to do anything without being exhausted. I really need help. :-(

Some womens thyroid goes out of whack during meno and it should be checked regularly. Exhaustion and anxiety are common symptoms. I'm actually not a big fan of Progesterone creams because I think it is a scam. Lately I talked to one woman and she said when she used the cream her muscles got very tired.
After three weeks of bleeding would leave any one feeling exhausted.
The sleeplessness is related to all of us. There must be millions of women wandering around the house at 4 a.m. :-)
Diet and exercise can work wonders.
Actually I don't know much about all the bleeding problems because mine was surgipause. But I am kind of stuck on the thyroid thing because it can cause all kinds of problems and it isn't being diagnosed. Doctors just say "there's nothing wrong with you these cancer causing drugs won't cure".
