Hello, I have problems with high blood pressure. In spite of that, I have extra weight, I smoke and I am not physically active at all. Doctor recommended me to take beta blockers for high pressure but I have heard that these meds might lead to weight gain and that is something I am really trying to avoid. Is that true, about beta blockers?

Yes, there is a possibility of gaining weight because of the beta blockers use. But that should not be your concern, because you are already aware that you have to start with some diet (skip sugar and fat!). And that will be very much helpful for hour heart issues. Perhaps even a mild exercise (walks for example) will do you good.
