Hi, my sister has been diagnosed with chronic myeloid leukemia. Illness started without any major symptoms and ended up with a big number of abnormal cells in her blood. Treatments for this condition are numerous and different. Their basic role is to control the number of abnormal, cancer cells. There are chemo therapies, transplantation of bone marrow cells helps sometimes, some patients receive interferon alpha because it decreases the number of leukocytes and thrombocytes. I guess her doctor will determine the best therapy for her.
