I had the depo shot 3 times. From late 2009-mid 2010. I only experienced loss of libido while on the shot. It wasn't until I came OFF the shot (I was due for a shot sept 2010 and did not get it) and I started to experience hair loss/thinning, acne, and vaginal dryness! Now more recently I'm experiencing depression, anxiety, and insomnia among a few others. Also the other side effects never went away. I'm 100% sure I'm experiencing a hormonal imbalance because I NEVER had a problem with depression, anxiety, or insomnia. I feel horrible. I never want to do anything fun with my friends after previously being pretty much a socialite. I feel so ugly with this acne and damaged hair. I used to get compliments on my beautiful skin and hair :-( my doctor said all of my hormone Tests came back "normal". Not sold. There is CLEARY something wrong! I've become so discouraged and even more depressed because this is not going away. I wanna be my happy, healthy, pretty self again. I made an appt with a naturopathic dr since my medical doctors are dismissing my symptoms as depo withdrawal. Hopefully she'll listen and understand. This is no coincidence that I come across threads everyday about the same things I'm experiencing. We must empower each other now and help one another out. I don't wish this on my worst enemy.
