Hi! I have had problems with acne ever since I can remember and my derm suggested he gave me cortisone injections but I am really worried about possible scars and the pain everybody talks about. Should I take cortisones for acne or not? I don’t know what to do!

Hi! I wouldn’t want to influence your decision, I just wanted to share my experience. I had a very big nodule on my face that I couldn’t get rid of in months. My dermatologist injected the cortisone into it and it was painful for a whole day but nothing I couldn’t handle. The cortisone made this depression on my face and it was really ugly for a month or so but then it disappeared. I didn’t have any other problems with it except this depression that lasted for a month. If your doctor feels cortisone would be beneficial, you may want to give it a try.
