Hello, I am having strong headaches, I think they are result of the tooth abscess (well, the dentist told me so). Toothache occurred first, I thought it was caries, but this all got complicated and eventually abscess came with high temperature. Dentist told me I should take Aleve for the pain, and I would like to know if it is effective for abscess toothache.

Aleve is medication that is non steroidal anti inflammatory drug. It inhibits the production of prostaglandins and acts as an analgesic. Combination of antibiotics and Aleve might subdue your pain, so you should continue taking this drug and after a while your problem will be gone. If not f there are further complications, contact your dentist again.
