A friend of mine has been diagnosed with paranoid frantic psychosis and is spending some time in a mental health clinic until her condition has been stabilised and she feels like herself again. I am quite worried. Do you think the hallucinations will be gone when the treatment is done? Will she need constant medication to stay sane?

The hallucinations should be gone, yes. And mental health facilities often have day clinics, which are voluntary, to follow up the initial period of commitment. As for life-long medication, this varies greatly on a case by case basis but the long and short of it is that yes, it is possible your friend will need to stay on medication.
