My wife is in her third month of pregnancy and we are doing everything we can to go maintain healthy status of her and our baby. Anyway, we have heard that if there is some problem during pregnancy or during the birth, some painful procedures might be applied. Are you familiar with consequences of those procedures in newborns?

Well, I assume that we are talking about the immediate emergency actions that are needed if something has gone seriously wrong during pregnancy. Also, there are some conditions that baby might suffer from and which was not treatable until the birth (and also require fast intervention). As for the consequences, if the procedure is done properly there should not be any, except for the expected ones.

Please don't worry about that stuff now. You want this pregnancy to be a happy time for you and your wife. Being first time parents can be so stressful in and of itself, why upset things more by getting ahead of yourself. Mom and you should just do what your supposed to do, see that she sees her Obgyn as scheduled, take her vitamins and maintain a healthy eating pattern, no smoking, no alcohol, no kitty litter. Jot questions down each Dr. visit so as you don't forget important thoughts and concerns. Maintaining a healthy pregnancy is key. Anything can happen in delivery, thats just how it goes. Don't worry, i'm sure your baby will be healthy and happy. Congratulations
