I just wanted to be on the safe side, so I hope you have an answer, I am 7 week pregnant and I have a pet, cat. Is it safe to keep her at home while I am pregnant? I am worried about infections and stuff.

Yes, cats are a common cause of an infection called toxoplasmosis. It is not dangerous for you but can have serious consequences on your unborn baby. if you've had the cat with you for a long time, it is quite possible that you've already got the infection and are now immune to it, so in that case, you don't have to worry. to be on the safe side don't clean the cat litter yourself and even if you have to, wear gloves and then wash your hands well afterwards.

The main problem with preganncy and cats is litter box germs, basically you need to stay away from the litterbox and keep the cat clean.

Plenty if pregnant women safely own 2-3 cats, you just need to take extra precautions.
