For the first time in my life I am going to see my dad. We had never seen him I my life. Recently I have found out who he is, by one agency after a long and exhausting search. I was warned that he has some disorder called ataxia. Can you tell me what it is and what to expect.

I will help you, my wife also has the ataxia. It is a condition in which you have lack of coordination when you are trying to perform voluntary movement. The hands, legs and torso move like the person is clumsy, inaccurate or instable. It is caused by the damage of nervous system that controls movement. It is diagnosed and treated by neurologist. There are many types of ataxia and I think you should know that some of them are hereditary.
