Can ataxia telangiectasia develop later in life, post-pubescent?

I know for a fact that ataxia telangiectasia normally develops in children, and that is why I have come here to ask whether it is at all possible for the condition to come along later in life, post puberty? I have a creeping suspicion about someone I know, and that is why I am asking this question about ataxia telangiectasia. Thank you for any response.

I am 60 and was recently diagnosed with Neuropathy, which covers a variety of diseases, including friedreich's ataxia, which my father had and my younger brother currently has. By the way fletch1458 our last name is fletcher.
