OK, I do know what the beta blockers are. I use them to reduce my blood pressure but I don't think that they are good for me anymore. It was OK when my cardiologist prescribed it to me, and that was three years ago, but last months I am not feeling that great. I feel weird and I have constant lightheadedness. I know that this is a side - effect as well, but I think that this should happen to me when I started to use it, not now. My cardiologist says that this is normal, but I am not sure. Anyone else has this problem?

yes, it is just one of the side - effects that beta blockers may cause. I had the same issue. I am not saying that doctor didn't know what to prescribe in my case, who am I to tell, but when I went to find another opinion, another cardiologist told me that beta-blockers should NOT be prescribed if you have low blood pressure. Also, they should not be prescribed if you have a slow pulse because the further reduction in heart rate can cause dizziness and, in your case constant lightheadedness. So, in my opinion, you are not the only one dealing with this problem.

Which type of beta blockers are you using? Sure, it is not that important, but I am telling all this because I was using it three years ago, I think because beta blockers helped me deal with my anxiety at the begriming. Later, I needed to use something else. So, yes, I did try beta blockers - and those blockers were not only helped me deal with my anxiety issues, they also helped me fight panic attacks that I had. But I need to admit that during all of this time, I think that I was using it for more than one year, I had dizziness. That is all I had, I never had any other problems.

I don't know which beta blocker you are using, but I do know that most people are well and they don't feel any side - effects while they are taking those. Anyway, it can happen, obviously. It is true that some beta blockers may make you feel a little bit dizzy or they can cause that lightheadedness, which you are dealing with. In that case, my strong advice is to avoid driving a care. When it comes to this lightheadedness, it usually should go away after you have been taking the medicine for a few days - 10 to 15, I think, but. If you keep feeling dizzy or lightheaded after a few days, you really should consult your doctor to see what this is all about.

The main problem is that I consulted my doctor three or four times. First time when I consulted him, he told me that this is normal, that this will go away and that so many of the patients come to him with the same problem. Since this problem didn't go away, I went another and another time. So, he changed therapy for me, and he gave me some other beta blockers that are "lighter" - that is what he told me and he is sure that that lightheadedness will go away after a couple of days. I am using this new beta blocker for three days, I still have those lightheadedness and I really hope that they will go away. Soon!

That is a good news! I really hope that you won't have those issues anymore. Now, since it is just a begriming, you should wait for a while and see how your body is going to react to another beta blocker. Also, be careful and you should observe every single change of your body. For example, you really should call your doctor right away if you have trouble breathing when you're taking a beta blocker or if you are noticing that you are gaining a weight for a little time since you are using it. If your legs, feet, and hands start to swell, you should tell this to him as well.

Hi guys. I am using bisoprolol for two months now. I can't say that I have constant lightheadedness problems, but I have it occasionally. My biggest concern is because somehow I feel tired and I think that my heart beats are pretty small, and I know that my heartbeats were about 90 before I started to use this beta blocker. Yesterday, I was checking my blood pressure and my heartbeats and blood pressure were OK, but the heartbeats were about 46 if I remember well. What does this mean? Is this the reason why I am feeling tired, why I don't have the will to walk, work, eat, etc?

Look, you need to contact your health care provider as soon as possible. It is not normal to have those low heartbeats. We are talking about very small heartbeats which are not ok. It is normal that you feel tired, that you don't have the will to do anything, but that is just at the beginning of the therapy. It is not that OK that you have so low beats per minute. Maybe this beta blocker is not for you because I do know two of them who were complaining about this beta blocker. Contact your doctor and solve this problem.
