What many of you are describing could be autonomic dysfunction, which after years of specialists and MRI's and the like we have come to the conclusion our daughter suffers from. A brochure the Mayo clinic is here: https://med.uth.edu/pediatrics/files/2014/02/MAYO_Clinic_Teens_Dysautonomia_copy.pdf

It happened to me before, but this time it got worse. It felt like i wasn't going to see/hear again, and that is really scary.

This happened to me when I was on the pill and had to stop taking it. Do you take any medications? Also having low blood pressure or a defective heart valve can cause the same symptoms. Good luck hope you get the right diagnosis.

Very interesting stories here. Maybe someone can help explain what happened to me. Sometimes, when I was younger, I randomly just blacked out. It strangely only happened in private places, when I was alone. I would be just standing or sitting, and then suddenly, I would just be paralyzed. I was physically unable to move. Then, I began to have these weird hallucinations, both auditory and visual. The only one I can clearly remember is a giant eyeball that stared at me from the bottom of the stairs one time. But anyways, the hallucinations, or whatever they were lasted about 30 seconds, and then my vision just faded to black. I would then wake up, exactly where I was originally, and in the exact same position. It stopped once I hit double digits, which sorta sucks, because strangely enough, I enjoyed these episodes. However, does anybody know what may have caused this?

I get this when I haven't smoked weed in a while and when I smoke I experiece exactly what you said, fully conscious the whole time but my vision and hearing go and I feel really unsteady and have to sit down, it usually lasts like 2-5 minutes appart from one time I just completely blacked out and collapsed and was unconscious for like 2 minutes. I was stood up, my visions and hearing went when I was out with my friends, then the next thing I know, I'm consious and on the floor with people stood over me asking what happened. I was so embarrassed. apparently weed lowers your blood pressure (don't take my word for this I haven't googled it) and these symtoms can be related to low blood pressure.

So I was standing in this hot room after smoking weed and it felt like I was just getting so high. I was standing there just thinking about stuff then I bent over and held my knees because I almost fell over then I stood back up then next thing I knew I was on the ground with my eyes closed completely conscious thinking about what just happened but I could move until my friend got me up then my eyes were hurting and just intense strobes of colour appeared in my eye sight from nowhere and I couldn't see 30 cm in front of me then my friend tested me for brain damage with the question tests I got them all right. I smoked more that night and didn't get anywhere near that high

I have had the same problem since I was 13 and just randomly about 4 times now. I'm 37 and it just happened the 4th time yesterday and I throw up after I come to then the loud ringing in my ears fade away. I've never seen a Dr for it because it happens so rarely but it is definitely a scary few minutes.

I have read a similar (exact tbh) thread 10 min ago, and here is what I posted there:
This is called orthostatic hypotension,
This happens when you lie down , and then stand up really fast. The brain doesn't get enough blood for some time, but then the body adjusts to it.
Solution: neck exercises, first sit upright before standing up, if you are about to have the thing just bend down, and it should go away.
Causes: caffeinated drinks, low BP, dehydration
Also drink a lot of water,
See a doctor if these symptoms occur to you very frequently or you pass out, but it's nothing to worry about and it passes with time

This literally happened to me within the last 24 hours. It scared the c**p outta me! I had to grab on to the door because I thought I was going to faint. I thought I was having an attack of some sort because I couldn't feel my body, my legs were shaking, my heart was pounding, I couldn't hear anything except a buzz, everything became so blurry and I couldn't keep my eyes open.. Well atleast I thought I couldn't. I'm pretty sure I blacked out. I was so scared. I tried to say something so someone could come help me but I couldn't get my mouth to open. It felt horrible! I hope it never happens to me again :(

Same thing happened today, got super tired, couldnt hear myself speaking & my vision started going out, i told my friends then knelt at my bed & got lost in space and passed out. Hit my head on the dresser but never felt it. I was only out for 2 seconds but still it was not pleasant. Been perfectly fine ever since. Very strange

Hi, I had this happen to me this morning, or something like it.
I'm 16. This morning around 1AM I woke up with a fever of 102.3. I took some medicine and drank a bottle of water and went back to sleep. I woke up again just about an hour ago, still with a fever in the 101's. I drank some more, had a cough drop, then I went downstairs to eat something, and went into my pantry. The second I even swallowed the smallest bite, it was like a wet car windshield in the cold, blackness creeping into my eyes, I had very terrible visibility, and was extremely dizzy. I fumbled my way to the bathroom and sat down on the toilet. My vision came back, but then my hearing went. It was like I had water in my ears, tons of pressure, and I could barely hear anything for about 3-4 minutes. Is this the same thing as yours or something related to my fever?
