Hi I am 19 years old, and i was diagnosed with PCOS (poly cystic ovary syndrome) about a year ago. I had surgery on my right ovary about a month ago. I had a cyst that was almost twice the size of my ovary removed, it busted overnight the night before the surgery. Luckily I was there and ready to go first thing in the morning. Since the surgery I have been having alot of problems. The doctor told me last year that the reason why i wasnt ovulating was because of the pcos well the doc that did my surgery said i would be more then likely to get pregnant within the next 3 to 4 months. Well 2 days after my surgery i started bleeding heavily and havent stopped since. I have been bleeding for a month now. I went to the doc and i was put on birth control 2 pills a day until i stopped bleeding, it has slowed the bleeding down alot but hasnt stopped it. I am takin 2 birth control pills a day and suppose to start my cycle this coming tuesday but i havent stopped bleeding since 2 days after the surgery. Any advice?? me and my husband really want kids and i dont know whats goin on im freakin out i dont want to have to have a hysterectimy or anything at a young age. has anyone had this problem before???? can you help please???

You need to go back the doctors.
I have PCOS an i had bleed through on the pill. Iv read alot on hear an its seems common to carry on bleeding with PCOS on the pill.
Your very young an want children so you need it sorting.
PCOS dose make it harder to get pregnant but not impossible.
Metformin is a drug which helps your condition an it increases fertility.
Mention it to your doctor when you next see him.
I have now got the Mirena coil to control the iregular bleeding. I only had it last Monday so dont know its affects yet.
Eventually it may spot all bleeding (no periods at all) its a slow reliese hormone an it lasts 5 years.
Iv read bad reports about it tho on this forum. My consultant has asked me to give it a go for at least 6 months.
Go back an talk to your doctor. Take someone with you. I think doctors listen better when they are faced by more than one person. xx
