I was on the pill for five years, with no problems. Took about three years off, and then recently started again.
I took the first pack and then immediately started on the second (to "skip" my period). I have done this in the past with no problems.
Anyways, about halfway into this second pack I started bleeding. It is very similar to period bleeding and has been constant for several days now. I've been continuing to take the pills, and am continuing to bleed, with only about five pills left in this pack.
Is this normal? Is it breakthrough bleeding? Any answers would be of great help, thank you in advance!

It depends what kind of pills they are... You cannot skip correctly on tri-phasic pills, because the hormone strength changes so much. It is best done with a MONO PHASIC pill...
Ys the breakthrough bleeding is perfectly normal, especially since you just recently started back and tried to skip a period.
What pill are you on?

Hey i need you guys to help me! I switched from levlen 28 to tri-sprintec about a month ago and the first month was fine, until i tried to skip my period on tri-sprintec by skiping the placebo pills and just starting a new pack! I know you arent supposed to skip your period on triphasic pills because of the weekly hormone strengths, but Ive had heavy breakthrough bleeding for a week, and to top it off i broke out HORRIBLY all over my mouth and chin. right now its my skin thats really bugging me...so could my breakout be caused by trying to skip my period by throwing my body out of wack or what?
