Hi, I’ve been on sprintec birth control for three years and have never had breakthrough bleeding. About a month ago I did have heartburn which I went to the doctor and was prescribed a month of omenzaprole. Last time I had sex was two weeks ago on my period and we used a condom. I have not missed any pills or taken any longer than a half hour late. Fast forward a week and a half ago I ended my period but continued to have a headache on my right side of my head that wouldn’t seem to go away and some nausea. I was on vacation during this time and the headache seemed to get worse so I saw a doctor and had normal blood work and urine sample. The doctor gave me zofran and floricet for the headaches which I took for two days and stopped because I heard you can get addicted easily. I also witnessed my friend having a seizure this week which was very traumatic for me in general. Anyway yesterday I woke up and was randomly bleeding almost like a period and am only in my end of second week of active pills?? Never had this happen before. I know it’s typical when you switch methods but I’ve been on this same pill consistently for years. Went to the gyn and did pregnancy test which was negative and she took cultures because she said bleeding like this could signify infection so I’m waiting for those results. She didn’t seem too concerned though about the bleeding which I was kinda like wtf but I voiced my opinions about not being sure about being on birth control anymore due to lack of sex drive, anxiety, and more frequent headaches, which she said I could trial being off of it after I finish my current pack. (The alternative was try another pill but I’ve been wanting to Try being off anyway so I saw this as a sign maybe). Helppppp! Does any of this sound normal or what would cause this? I’m just finding it an odd coincidence that I had this headache I couldn’t shake nausea and now this random bleeding all together. And I’m not sure if the med I took maybe had decreased my birth control and caused me to bleed?? Any insight would be helpful!
