I was on bupropion for 10 weeks. The treatment usually lasts 7-12 weeks. It was registered under name Zyban, and is produced by GSK. Bupropion has effect on norepinephrine and serotonin action. It is not exactly known how it works in tobacco withdrawal. It causes dry mouth sensation, loss of appetite, insomnia, anxiety. That’s probably not all the side effects. Zyban has certain contraindications in some persons with kidney and liver diseases. You should ask your physician about it.
