Hi I am 28 yrs old and now 19 weeks pregnant with my first child. I had my first ultrasound last week and at the time the radiologist said everything looked good. I went to my follow up appointment with my doctor and he said upon reviewing the ultrasound they found 2 things. Bilateral Choroid Plexus Cysts and Pleural Effusion on one lung. My doctor said since my Quad Screening came back normal, there isn't much to worry about. I am scheduled for a follow up ultrasound in 2 and a half weeks. Of course I am worried. I am doing research on both and have found plenty of information on the cysts and have been able to calm my nerves on that aspect but I am unable to find much information on the Pleural Effusions and what I can find worries the hell out of me. I am looking for some information on it and if there is cause for concern. Please help. Thanks

I am a 27 year on with my second pregnancy and i myself had the cyst and have had a recent follow up with a sonogram to see where we stood with the cyst. The cyst are now gone and i am 26 weeks. At my first sonogram that was more detailed they measured the cysts and looked at every aspect of the baby to check with deformities which the baby had none of, we also have no hx of any down syndrome or birth defects and i am not a high risk pregnancy, nothing anyone is going to say is going to make you worry free but i wanted you to know what i went through. My second sonogram they will check the same aspects of the baby and the cyst and our cyst were gone. The cyst though could take up to 36 weeks to disappear.
