I know this post was posted awhile ago. I was placed on citalopram about 4 months ago. I had begun to notice my clothes not fitting right, tighter. Right from the start of taking this med. I refused to weigh myself for 8 weeks! I was very surprised to find out that I had gained 16 lbs! Now, I am an extremely a to be person. I track my step count everyday and try to reach and exceed my goal count of 20k steps a day. I was also a runner until my weight fluctuation but still managed to walk 20k or more steps daily with a goal distance of 9 miles of walking, or running combined.

I had an insatiable appetite on these meds! Despite taking adderal for my ADD! 4 weeks off of these meds and new to running again, I have lost only 3 lbs! Thus I am more depressed an anxious about the weight gain than anything else! I was a medium sized woman to begin with. Now I am a size large and disgusted. 4 years ago, after giving birth my weight was 267. I lost 120 lbs then gained the weight gained with this med. Thanks to Obama care health insurance is not affordable since I am a married mother. We do not qualify for Medicare. I thought I would try this med as it's affordable. I see why.

I've been on Escitalopram 10mg for four months. I have always been one of those girls who never exercises and eats what i want without affecting my size. But the past two months i noticed that my clothes were getting tighter. I've been eating less lately, yet i realised I've gained 5kg in about 2 months. I wonder if my anxiety was making me unintentionally keep weight off, and by going on the medication (which has calmed me) has given me a regular metabolism? Going to try eat healthy and force myself to go jogging to see if thar helps!

I have been on it for 7 years I have put on 4 stone in weight. I cannot get motivated. I am never out of the house now. I have tired to come off it slowly and was okay for a few months then all my symptoms came back. I think it is likely a toxin to the liver and that is why you have weight gain. I could not bare the symptoms I suffer from so I have just had to accept the weight gain.
