For the last five years I have been experiencing these episodes. It begins with an event of deja vu, which paralyzes me. I appear to concentrate hard on the vision that is present to try and place why it is familiar, the vision is typically always the same. After it dissipates I have no recollection of what I was seeing and feeling, or than knowing I have experienced it in all episodes i've had. I become extremely nauseated and feel a very intense feeing of fear. Sometimes the confusion and fear causes me to cry. I spend the next twenty minutes to an hour completely out of it, like I just woke up from a nap. I feel disoriented and scared. Sometimes they are followed by headaches which last for hours. I don't actually return to feeling completely normal until after I've gone to bed and woken up the next morning. I have been told it's anxiety, but I have doubts as this event presents itself in the exact same series of events. I have been put on antidepressants and anxiety meds, but they do not help. I feel I might be experiencing a special type of seizure. Can anyone give me any advice? Thank you.

My deja vu was EXACTLY as you described. These are simple or partial seizures. Anxiety medications can make these worse, as I've been told, and as I also experienced. Please see a neurologist & suggest simple or partial seizures to them. I had them for nearly 20 years believing they were anxiety attacks until I was finally diagnosed correctly. I have had NONE since going on medication. Hope this helps!
