I've been taking them about that long and I was short a week on several monthy scripts, The physical withdrawal last about 5-7 days but the psychological effects can last 10 days or more. These mostly consist of huge cravings for the drug and anxiety of knowing you have to wait for a re-fill. Playing his favorite music and warm or cold showers got me through. There have been times where I had very few and mild withdrawals. If he has access to valium or tramadol, they really lesson the effects. Benetryl is good sometimes too.

Hello there,

As the poster above me has already gave you some basic info, I can just add that you need to be supportive as much as you can. I know that you are annoyed with the whole situation and that you can’t stand your husband at these moments, but you must be strong for both of you. I was pretty annoying and I was acting like a spoiled brat when I was experiencing withdrawal symptoms from Percocet. The worst part is that after physical symptoms are gone, I couldn’t make peace with myself that I need to live without medication which was helping me.

I even called my doctor few times, but luckily after two weeks everything was over.
