I was on this medication for 15 years and ended up in prison in the end because i cared about nothing. I lost everything money, friends, wife and children. It totally destroyed my life and my family's. Stay Away From It

I am sorry for your recent bad experiences. I have taken Effexor XR for 14 years. I am having similar language issues. However, I know that I could not have functioned and held down my job for the past 14 years without the Effexor XR.

Please tell me about the petition. My daughter was prescribed this in spring of 2017. She is starting to have withdrawals RIGHT NOW. I cannot believe this is happening and that this drug is being prescribed. I will do anything I can to stop it.
I will sign and so will my family.

My daughter has been on it for 6 months and tried to get off of it at 3 months when she told her doctor is was not working on her depression, but all her doctor did was increase her dosage and her depression only worsened. Now she is at 2 days without her prescription out, and it has started, the withdrawals. How can they prescribe this to people! I am on board. What is the status? We will all sign and I will spread the word. Thank you for sharing your story. I am so sorry for your suffering. Your strength in writing about it might save more young people than you realize.

My experience with Effexor and psychiatrist, first of all pgsychiatry seems like a witchcraft in the sense that they don’t know what they are doing; they can’t giive you basic answers; will you get better ? Will you get worse ? Can I get better ? What’s happening to me ? Etc these questions won’t be answered by the psychiatrist instead she will prescribe you drugs as a direct response of you expressing your suffering. Then I went into the Effexor and at the beginning it made it easier to self regulate but three years into it and then it became a nightmare, it’s effectiveness became completely random one day May work the next day was disastrous mood wise, and then the disturbing neurological side effects come in so I start to go off the thing but is harder than getting clean from any other drug, took me a year and still suffered from horrible withdrawal symptoms. Then after years in this horror putting my emotional health on the hands of something that is not really understood how it works or if it works it hit me; psychiatry has fallen behind and are controlled by the drug companies, hence they don’t really know what they are doing they are playing dices with our minds brains and health, I discovered that in contrast to psychiatry every other science have indeed make huge progress in particular psychology with the new wave therapies. It is clear to me that people should use psychology to completely override the use of drugs unless they are a danger to themselves and others. Please don’t put your life in the hands of someone that can’t guive you basic answers like what’s happening to you. Seek new wave therapies and evidence based therapies like CBT, MCT, ACT, you don’t know the hell that awaits for you if you choose the path of the drugs.
