So sorry you are going through this with her. I promise you though, she is feeling very miserable. I am going through it RIGHT NOW. I've had these mega joint injections before but have NEVER had this reaction before....and I am scared to death at work today that I will spew poisonous venom at someone for no reason at all. I apparently had a steroid flare, which has made me red faced, hot and sweaty along with causing me to not sleep at all. I feel pretty crazy and out of control, I see it and am trying everything to not feel this way, but really don't feel that I have control of it. Next time I should probably take a couple days off afterwards. Just stay off of her radar for those few days following the shot....maybe that will help? I screamed at my mother yesterday, then my son, then my husband....then I cried my eyes out...ate an entire bag of cheese puffs and went to bed. That is NOT me....pretty awful. Hang in there!!!

I agree, NOBODY EVER told me about this type of side effect. I would probably have thought twice.

OMG! So si true. Steroids seem like a God send but the side effects are gut wrenching. I need steroids fir everything- Athsma, hives, allergies, back pain, knee pain.... I've severed a great deal of relationships during "roid-rage". I can see myself being "crazy-out if control" but I can't stop it. But I have to hve them in order to breathe & be able to open my eyes. They should have a drug to combat these horrible side effects. We shouldn't have to choose between sanity & health. And what's worse is when u tell people why u r being volitile & irate - I'm not exactly sure they understand. After all u just hurt their feelings so they have a very hard time truating u again. I try to seclude myself, even got off social media because I was behaving like a monster. I could see it happening bit could not stop. It's very sad really. Another thing if it doesnt make me irrate I speak a 1000 words a minute. I don't kniw if doctors are aware of this. I've now gotten used to the pill format- I still trip but not as bad.

I had a cortisone shot and this is the first time I've ever considered suicide or having such bombastic outbursts....and getting upset over nothing. Never again!

Yes! I was looking on the Internet...nothing I read as cautions or side effect mention what I have been experiencing! It's a guaranteed when my husband gets a shot or shots...here comes hyper-city ...won't relax up doing things I do and blaming me for everything not being done.
Hateful and angery unreasonable are three words...loud yelling and mean...
BUT he has been in so much pain after two failed back surgeries there is nothing else that works temporarily for him about 3 weeks.

Man, I must be odd man out here. I've noticed the last three times I've had knee injections that my concentration level has gone up and I can analyse better. Last night I was figuring the circumference of circles in my head to fabricate a jig for painting something the next day. Am I the real odd guy?

Checking if you are still depressed. I got a lumbar epidural injection about a month ago and am experiencing severe depression.

Thank you for sharing, I called my doctor, he said give it a few more days

Side effects should hopefully only last 2-3 weeks. Take a deep breath and understand that the “ rage” or depression you maybe feeling will subside .

I'm having the same issues! I had a shot in my hip two weeks ago and one in my knee last week. I have been angry and lashing out at my poor husband! I just want it to stop! I'm normally not an angry person and I don't like who I am right now.

Cortisone is a catabolic steroid. What are commonly referred to as Steroids or “roids” are anabolic Steroids and are diratives of testosterone which is why they may cause increased aggression in those predisposed to aggression. No reason why this should happen with cortisone.
