Hi I am on the birth control pill called Sprintec. I am not sexually active and I am 18 years old. I do not take my birth control pill at the same time every night. Well I missed one pill and I have been having heavy bleeding non-stop for 8 days. My regular period lasts for 5 days. I do not know what to do. Any suggestions.

Hi honey! missing 1 pill should NOT start your period! So because you are having non stop bleeding I want you to call your doctor immediately! This is called break through bleeding and is usually caused by the wrong combination of hormones in your pill! You will have to have this type changed! So please do that OK? and just know that intermittent bleeding is NOT normal with the BCP and is just a sign of the wrong combination! I was on 1 kind and had 3 periods a month! And no one told me! So I went about 4 months before telling my doctor, he put me on a new perscription and I was totally fine after that! Let me know how you make out OK? good luck and health!
