Hi my name is Sarah and i think that i am pregnant.. 3 weeks ago i had sex with my boyfriend after prom and i had been off my birth control pills, i then 2 days later took the morning after pill because i was scared, then however we had sex again a week after and i still was not taking my birth control pills i then again went and took the morning after pill however i got diarrhea and am not sure if it worked do you think it did? i then started my birth control pills again and i should now be starting my period soon but i am very unsure as i messed up my pills and can not remember the day i started them :S

Then i was on pills and i spent last weekend with my boyfriend and we had sex again however that night i did not take my pill to his house but i took two the next day i think i am okay on this one as i had taken pills consistently before this night.

I now have a few pains in my stomach but they come and go. going from right to the left side it varies. i should be starting my period soon but im not sure and i still am taking birth control pills

i do not want to be pregnant and i do not know when to take a test to check if i am because i don't want to take it too early incase it tells me i am not and i actually am.

Any advise on what to do?? its a complicated situation

also when do you start to get a bump?

Thanks Sarah

Hi Sarah: I am pretty sure you are not pregnant. When you take the morning after or plan B pill you are safe if you take it withing 72 hours after unprotected sex. It has a 99% success rate when done right. Since you were only LATE with your BCP it doesn't really count as missing - also hon NEVER take 2 at the same time OK? As soon as you realize that you haven't taken the day before's take it and then take your next one as usual. Each pill has a certain amount and ratio of different hormones, so taking a double dose can actually have a negative affect on you body! The diarrhea is from the morning after pill, many women get diareha right before their period, and this is the same thing. You get your period because there is no fertilization of the egg, and the same with morning after pill, it stops any chance of the egg being fertilized by sperm. You will be getting your period soon - from the syptoms you describe. So don't fret about it.

I would advise you to start using a calendar so you can be aware of when to start the pill. And really try not to stop and start with it, it can create havoc with your hormones OK? Good luck and health hon! And also ALWAYS ALWAYS make sure your boyfriend uses a condom!! STD's have risen by 50% in 1 year!!!!! So it is a good idea to start using them so you will always be aware and if your boyfriend doesn't want to wear one - TOO BAD!!! Becaue a pregnancy could be the least of your worries!!! Him wearing a condom and you being on BCP will stop any accidents from happening. End of sermon! XD ;-)
