My son is 8 years old and couple of weeks ago he started complaining on the stomach problems. It was cramps in the beginning and now he vomits and have diarrhea. I tried to give him a lot of juices and water for the amount of fluid he has lost. Is there a danger of dehydration? How do children with severe dehydration behave?

Our organism has 65 % of water and that percentage is even higher in kids. This means that dehydration in kids may happen easily and that lost fluid has to be replaced quickly. Fatigue, confusion, even convulsion are the signs of the dehydration. There are also lessened skin elasticity and changes around the eyes. You should do smart to take him to the doctor as soon as possible.
