I had a risky sexual contact (no protection) two years ago. I’ve got a vaginal infection and I also did some additional test that showed I am HIV positive. So, I guess the only thing left for me is to try to learn as much as possible about AIDS. I suppose that the first thing I should do is learn about the latency period for AIDS. How long is that period?

When a person in HIV positive, that means that AIDS is still not activated. As for the latent period, the good news is that it might last for a really long period, and we are talking about years here. It is very important for you to take your therapy and maintain the high level of your immune system’s strength. You can have a more or less normal life for a long time.
