I had my first baby 2 years ago by c-section. I have always been overweight and weighed about 250 lbs at the time my baby was born. I quickly lost about 20 pounds and then stayed the same weight for several months while adjusting to a new baby and going back to work. This year, I have gained the 20 pounds back and at some point months ago, I noticed that my belly sticks out so much that it looks swollen or like I'm pregnant! It never looked like this before I was pregnant. When I cut down on carbs and try to diet, it seems to help a little , but I haven't stuck to a good diet and now I look pregnant again (I'm not, I had my tubes tied). My abdomen sticks out so much that I have to buy tops 1-2 sizes larger than what I used to wear before my pregnancy. I don't have pain unless my baby kicks me accidentally. And sometimes, it's uncomfortable to sleep on my side. I also noticed that as I get up from bed, my stomach takes on a more pointed/cone shaped appearance, similar to when I was pregnant. I'm wondering if its time to see a doctor about this and have wondered if this could be a result of weak stomach muscles after my pregnancy even though I only gained about 20 pounds while pregnant, or if it might be a hernia.
