Let me start by saying that I have been on Birth Control for the last 3 1/2 years and have NEVER had a period or spotting since I got it. About 2 weeks ago I woke up and discovered upon using the rest room that I had a sort of brown discharge that was kind of strange. Since then I have been having tiny (but painful) spasms in my abdomen and lower back and my aureolas have been darkening. I wasn't especially worried about this until I was talking to my best friend about her pregnancy and her eyes got huge when I told her about the blood, apparently she had the same symptoms with her pregnancy. After having this implant in for 2 years I am beginning to question its reliability. And without a period I have no way to judge. I took 2 HPTs immediately after it happened but both were negative.
Essentially I am looking for women who have gotten pregnant on implanon and want to know symptoms that went along with it. Also, Should I go to the doctor and get a blood test at the risk of looking dumb? ?

OK i have just read a bit on this as i had no idea what it was and this is what i have found out....
after 3 years, maintaining ovulation suppression and contraceptive efficacy.
[1] Implanon may be removed at any time, but must be removed after at most three years. and you have had it for over 3 years so i would say that this has either stopped working and the brown spotting is old blood or .. you are Pregnant
n comparison, surgical sterilization has a failure rate of 0.2%.[7] While these statistics suggest that Implanon is four times more effective in preventing pregnancy than surgical sterilization; it is important to remember that sterilization is permanent, whereas Implanon must be replaced every three years to continue to be effective. On the other hand, Implanon is completely reversible, while sterilization is usually permanent and cannot be reversed.

i suppose i should have clarified that i have been on two different types of BC. i was on depo for the first year and a half and have had the implanon going on 2 years. i have never experienced bleeding on either of the birth controls.
