will having an ovarian cyst interfere with having an implanon at any time?

If you do have a history of ovarian cysts, than Implanon might not be the best solution for birth control because it has been linked to even forming a new cysts. The official warning for Implanon does say that you have to inform your doctor of any history of ovarian cysts before Implanon is inserted, so that the state can be monitored. The cysts that are linked with Implanon do get better once the implant is removed, but either way, hormones from the Implanon have direct effect on your ovaries, so they potentially could make ovarian cysts symptoms a lot worse.

I'm afraid that is impossible - same hormones that affect the ovaries and prevent ovulation and pregnancy have effects on teh cysts. BUt, cysts that are caused or affected by hormonal birth control do subside when you stop using it and Implanon has it's expiry date. If your doctor knows about the possibility of this effect on cysts, it will be easier to monitor any change. But no, it's the one substance that's responsible for both protecting you and is linked with the cysts.

No - it's the opposite - Implanon can contribute to cysts forming or growing, but it still remains effective. Cysts don't have anything to do with it's effectiveness, but Implanon can make cysts temporarily worse.
