Wow. I keep going to my doctor, too. i have not stopped bleeding for four months now. The headaches sometimes are so bad that I want to bang my head on the wall. The doctors keep saying everything is normal. I had my tubes tied. This is my fourth child dd. I had a son before her. He was a premie and ended up passing away 5 hours after he was born. I also had an epidural. I heard epidurals can cause headaches after giving birth (found that out after I gave birth). My doctor is now made an appointment for me to see a nuraulogist. So I have to wait for that kinda scared. I just don't know whats going on never bled this long with my other children.

So has anyone gotten any answers? I'm debating going to the doc b/c I have been bleeding off and on since my baby was born 4 and a half months ago. I have had nausea and headaches, but I didn't think the headaches were a side affect b/c I had those before all this. Please let me know if any of you have answers, this is baby #3 but my 5th pregnancy and I've never had something like this before. thx!   :o)

My doc put me on the mini pill and its not working. And I'm breastfeeding my LO which normally stops your period all together :( I'm going to ask my doc about a d&c

I know this is old. But I had my daughter almost 9 months ago. I don't feel like a normal person. I went to the emergency room a while back and they told me I was fine. I was just wondering if anyone finally stopped bleeding? How long did it take? I'm kinda worried.:-|

So glad i came accross this thread, knowing that other people are going through what i'm going through puts my mind at ease a little. I had my baby 9 weeks ago and i stopped bleeding 3-4 weeks after her birth, i started taking the pill about 4 weeks after the birth and then a week later i started bleeding and havent stopped. i went to the doctor who thinks its probably a heavy period and hormones being confused and told me to stay off the pill for a month to let my body get back to normal. I feel so sorry for all you ladies that have been going through this for months on end with no answers, a few weeks of it has driven me mad with stress and worry, i would like things to be getting back to normal now but i feel like i cant get on until this is sorted out. I have to go back to doctor in a week if the bleeding hasnt stopped on its own so i'm crossing my fingers its gone by then. Good luck to you all at finding some answers

i had same issue i bled for seven months straight was on depo right after giving birth and they tried me on pill. the only thing that worked for me was getting on the patch, so im assuming it would be a hormone imbalance, but im not sure. hope this helps. i know how frustrating all that is

hi i know this is quite old now but ive had the same problem. im 24 and had my son 16months ago and bled continuously with the bleeding only stopping for like a couple of days. anway my doctor took it seriously as i have von willebrands disease (mild haemophilia) but it wasnt that and she concluded i had low estrogen levels. i was put on a pill microgynon 50ED which is a contraceptive pill high in estrogen. boy have they been amazing. the only downside is if i miss a couple i start to bleed again and it takes a few doses to stop it. also my doc told me to skip yhe sugar pills because when i did take them i would get a very heavy period and it took a few days of the normal pills to stop it. so now i only bleed when i miss a pill. but im so much happiet now but its kind of worrying because i dont know if im always going to be like this or if it will remedy itself eventually..

Hello,

I know this is old... I had my daughter in May of 2010 and bled until the end of Oct early Nov. My doctor did every blood test and ultrasound and tried every type of pill and finally settled on the Mirena, or so I had thought at the time. The Mirena helped a little bit, though my periods were still very irregular there was at least a break in between. Which made me happy. I found out in Nov. of last year (2012) that I had cancer. Which is, after doing the research on my own... something that did upset me about the doctor's office. The abnormal bleeding was a symptom of the cancer spreading. I know that this may not be the reasuring thing you all want to hear... but be vigulant and ASK questions!! And look up everything and make sure to talk to your doctor about it. And if you have history of cancer, regardless of what kinds, like I do... don't let the doctor just tell you to "not worry, it's not a big deal"

Hello everyone, just wanted to say i have 9 1/2 month old twin girls. While pregnant i had placenta previa as well as placenta accreta. My obgyn informed me that it was possible that they would do a hysterectomy depending on how successful they were at removing my placenta. Well the surgery was a 'success' and i did not have to have the hysterectomy done. The problem is my periods, while not being constant, has been 7 days long minimum and amazingly heavy with large blood clots. I wouldnt say egg size but still big. Anyhooo, talked to my ob and she had me do ultrasounds to see if i had fibroids and to see if i was anemic. No fibroids & not anemic. She said she thought the lining of my uterus have been weakened due to having 4 children from 2008-2012. So my options were to do a partial hysterectomy or a uterine ablation.  Since I am done having children I am having the uterine ablation.  On April 29th to be exact. I have a biopsy to screen for cancer next Tuesday. I am nervous but excited to have some relief. Good luck to you ladies. I hope you all find some answers and that my story is helpful somehow.

I had my baby 7.5 months ago and I have been bleeding almost every day since. I had the depo shot right before i left the hospital but nothing since then. The bleeding will stop periodically throughout the day, but will randomly start back up. I have been to 2 different obgyn's and neither of them seem concerned. This bleeding is an extreme hindrance on my life and i can't take much more of it. has anyone found any answers or ways to stop the bleeding?

So, realizing this is an older post, I have been going through the same types of things. My third child is 13 months old, and I was also put on the depo shot after her birth. I have not stopped bleeding since her birth. My original doctor has put me on estrogen and the nueva ring and estrogen again and continuously told me that since I am breast feeding this is normal! Hormones or not, this doesn't feel normal. Finally this last week I saw a different doctor and she did an ultra sound which turned up a cyst on my ovary. She also said I have a thin wall in my uterus and have a low estrogen level from the constant bleeding and blocked ovary. We are trying a different hormone treatment and doing another ultrasound in six weeks. I hope it clears up because the next step is surgery. I'm also hoping that the cyst isn't cancerous. I am sorry so many others have had the same problem, and hope my post can help. If you are being told its "normal" and will clear up on its own, get a second opinion!
