is a women get pregnent when she have delayed period

Periods are often delayed. Usually pregnancy stops periods. Why do you ask?

If I may join this discussion... 

I know that pregnancy is one of the delayed period reasons and most common reason as well...

But, ok let's stop with philosophy. I think that she is asking the same thing that I want to know.

I was trying to stay pregnant for almost three years. I am always doing those pregnancy tests, it doesn't matter if my period is late or not - whenever I have intercourse with my hubby during my ovulation days, I do the pregnancy test after three or for days.

Two tests in the row showed that I am pregnant. But my periods seems to be still there.

Why?
